An award winning multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and bandleader, G Rockwell has performed and competed on stages across the country. He is the only musician to have won three Freshgrass competition awards.

A virtuosic and diverse player on three instruments, G has toured as guitar player with Jacob Jolliff Band, sat in as banjo player with the jam-band Mountain Grass unit and performed as mandolin soloist, backed by a classical chamber orchestra.

While having roots in Bluegrass, G's unique style of Americana has modern and world music influences from Celtic fiddle music to Middle Eastern folk tunes, weaving with the traditions of American folk and Old Time.

A graduate from the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in 2024; he performs and teaches on multiple instruments. When he isn't performing with G Rockwell Band, you might find him on stage with Jacob's Ladder, Bookmatch, Cahaba Roots or High Horse. G teaches bluegrass and jamming classes at the Groton Music Center in Massachusetts. He is also available for Zoom or in-person lessons.

G has worked on multiple studio album/EP projects with bands, as a session musician, playing guitar, banjo and mandolin. His original compositions have been released on  Spark! (2019), Beacon Street Time (with Micah Nicol 2021) and Bouyancy (2023).
